Two parallel systems
After NEET-UG, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for All India Quota seats (15% in government colleges), central institutions, deemed universities and some others. State authorities conduct counselling for the remaining state quota seats.

|---|---|---|

Rank analysis, college list, form filling and round strategy after Class 12.
Typical round structure
Counselling usually has multiple rounds, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Rules about upgrading, resigning and security deposits change between rounds. Read the current information bulletin before each round.
Choosing between AIQ and state seats
Compare the college's facilities, location, fees, bond conditions and your home-state advantage. Some students prefer a good state college near home to a distant AIQ seat. Consider both medical training quality and family circumstances.
Beyond MBBS seats
BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and other courses also use NEET-based counselling in many cases. Our College Guidance Program helps you compare these options.
Strategy
Register for both where eligible. Track dates closely, as rounds can overlap. Understand rules about resigning seats and moving between rounds.
