Before you register

Keep ready: Aadhaar (or as required), an active bank account in the student's name, mark sheets, income and caste certificates as applicable, domicile certificate, fee receipt and a photograph. Make sure your name is spelt the same everywhere.

Tracking your application

Log in regularly to check status: submitted, institute verified, state/department verified, and payment. If stuck at institute level, contact your college's scholarship nodal officer early.

Renewal

Most scholarships require renewal every year with updated marks. Do not miss the renewal window.

Schemes commonly available on NSP

NSP hosts many schemes, including pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for minority communities, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for college and university students, scholarships for students with disabilities, and schemes run by ministries and some state governments. The list and eligibility change each year, so read the scheme guidelines on the portal and apply only for schemes that match your category, course and income. Applying for an ineligible scheme can delay or block your eligible application.

Common mistakes

Wrong bank details, name mismatches across documents, missing institute verification and late applications.

Amounts, eligibility and deadlines change. Always check the official portal before applying.
