Opportunities close to home
Uttarakhand has strong institutions in Dehradun, Roorkee, Pantnagar (agriculture university) and Srinagar Garhwal (HNB Garhwal Central University). Tourism, hydro power, forestry and defence services also create local careers.
Students in hill districts
Distance and connectivity can make guidance hard to access in hill areas. Online assessments and counselling help, and many entrance exams now have centres in more towns. Plan travel for exams in advance, especially during monsoon months.
Careers connected to the region
Uttarakhand's needs in disaster management, sustainable tourism, hydro and solar energy, forestry and healthcare create meaningful careers for students who want to work close to home.
Planning tips
Start exam preparation in Class 11, keep NCERT strong, and check defence eligibility early if interested. Online counselling makes expert guidance accessible even in remote areas.
