Career Assessment Test: Class 11th–12th

Turn your stream into a course and career plan. ₹1,900.

Start now

Choosing among them

Use your interests: building and designing (architecture, design), computing (BCA, data science), research (B.Sc then M.Sc), leadership and adventure (defence, merchant navy).

A closer look at the strongest alternatives

State CET routes fill thousands of engineering seats in good government and private colleges. In Maharashtra, for example, MHT-CET and CAP rounds decide admission to well-known colleges in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik and Nagpur. B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science from a good university, followed by a master's or skills such as data analysis, leads to research, teaching, analytics and IT careers. Architecture suits students who enjoy design and drawing as well as maths. NDA suits fit, disciplined students who want leadership roles in the armed forces.

How to decide in four steps

  1. Take a Class 11–12 career assessment to confirm your interest area.
  2. List three routes that match it and note their exams and dates.
  3. Check budget: private B.Tech fees can be high; compare value carefully.
  4. Talk to one student currently in each route before choosing.

Mistakes to avoid

Planning tips

Prepare for at least one state CET or university route alongside or instead of JEE. Check eligibility and dates on official websites.
