Career decisions for Ahmedabad students
Ahmedabad has India's leading institutes in management, design and architecture, along with strong engineering and commerce colleges. Students with creative or business interests have exceptional local options. Counselling helps you choose between them based on your profile.
What to look for in a career counsellor
When you look for the best career counselling in Ahmedabad, use this checklist for any counsellor:
- Do they start with a proper assessment of interests, aptitude and personality?
- Do you get a written report to keep?
- Do they understand Gujarat admissions as well as national exams?
- Will they meet parents too, and answer questions honestly, including "this path may not suit you"?
- Do they support you again at results and admission time?

Boards and entrance exams to know
Gujarat Board (GSEB) and CBSE are common. GUJCET decides many state engineering and pharmacy seats; JEE, NEET-UG, CUET-UG, NID DAT, UCEED and NATA (for architecture) are also important.
Careers linked to the local economy
Textiles, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, diamonds (nearby Surat), manufacturing, finance and start-ups shape local careers. Design, architecture, chemical engineering, pharmacy, commerce and entrepreneurship are strong options.
An Ahmedabad tip
Design entrances such as NID DAT and UCEED test creativity and drawing as well as aptitude. Students interested in design should build a sketchbook and practise from Class 11.
How counselling works for Ahmedabad families
Our counsellors work with Ahmedabad families online through video or phone sessions. The student takes the career assessment for their class online, the counsellor studies the 45-page report, and then student and parents meet the counsellor in a 1:1 session. You leave with a written plan: stream or course, entrance exams, backups and a timeline.
