Why aptitude matters for stream choice
Each stream relies on certain thinking skills. Knowing your strengths helps you choose a stream where you can perform well and enjoy learning.

|---|---|
| Numerical | PCM, Commerce with Maths, economics |

How a stream aptitude test works
You solve short timed questions in each area. Scores are shown as bands or percentiles compared with students of your class. Practice helps a little, but the aim is to see natural strengths.
Sample question types
- Numerical: "If 6 pens cost ₹90, how much do 10 pens cost?"
- Logical: find the next number in 3, 6, 12, 24, …
- Verbal: choose the word closest in meaning to "rapid".
- Spatial: which shape results when a paper figure is folded?
- Mechanical: which way will gear C turn if gear A turns clockwise?
These are short, but together they show clear patterns of strength.
Reading your aptitude results
Do not focus on one number. Look at your top two aptitudes and your interest code together. High numerical + logical with investigative interest points towards PCM or Commerce with Maths. High verbal with social or enterprising interest points towards Humanities, law or media. Balanced results mean you have flexibility.
If your aptitude is low in a key area
If you want PCM but numerical aptitude is low, spend three months on focused practice and reassess. Aptitude can improve with effort, especially in school years. Combine this with honest feedback from your maths teacher.
Combine with interest
A student with high numerical aptitude but low interest in maths may still prefer Commerce or Humanities. That is why our Class 9–10 test combines aptitude with interest, personality and subject comfort to give a stream fit score.
