About the exam
DCECE is the Bihar entrance exam for diploma engineering (PE), paramedical matric level (PMM), and paramedical inter level (PM) courses. Lateral entry (DECE) is for students who join the second year of a diploma.
Eligibility
- PE: passed Class 10 from BSEB or equivalent. Students appearing in Class 10 can apply.
- PMM: passed Class 10 with Science and English. Appearing students can apply.
- PM: passed Intermediate Science with Physics, Chemistry and English, and Maths or Biology.
- Lateral entry (DECE): 10+2 with the listed subjects, or Class 10 plus 2-year ITI.

Exam pattern
- Subject-wise written test. The number of questions and marks are in the current notice and information brochure on the BCECE site.
Selection process
- Rank list from the entrance test.
- Online counselling to allot colleges and branches.
Fee
- 2026 fee for one course group: Rs 750 (General, BC, EBC) and Rs 480 (SC, ST, PwD). More groups cost more.
- Lateral entry fee in 2026: Rs 2,200.
How to apply
- Open bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and the DCECE link when it opens.
- Register, fill the form, upload documents and pay the fee.
- Use the correction window if you made a mistake. Download the admit card before the exam.
